Variations of the Beetlejuice Cocktail

Like the title character, this cocktail can take on many faces.

  • Swap the gin for vodka to create a cocktail with a more neutral base. This spirit swap will work with any of the riffs, as well.
  • Create a murky, gloomy-looking cocktail by omitting the green chartreuse and using a half-ounce of melon liqueur and a half-ounce of raspberry liqueur.
  • Instead of a cranberry juice float, you can always use cherry juice or another red juice.
  • Match the dark tones of Beetlejuice by adding a half-ounce of blue curaçao, skipping the green chartreuse.

Garnishes

You may not be able to conjure objects like Beetlejuice, but you can summon the perfect garnish.

  • Drop a cocktail cherry into the drink or pierce one or three with a cocktail skewer.
  • Rub the rim of the glass with a lime wedge, then dip the rim into green sugar.
  • Mimic Beetlejuice's green hair with a lime peel or twist.
  • Channel the black and white stripes with a black and white striped cocktail straw.

A Horrifyingly Good Cocktail

You'll be singing day-o after just a few sips of this cocktail named for that iconic 80s movie, Beetlejuice. It's a great green Halloween cocktail and also makes the perfect Halloween party drink. Go ahead and let the spirit of this Beetlejuice cocktail move you to the iconic calypso song. Should you decide to gamble saying his name three times, though, that's a risk that only you can decide.
