Ingredients

  • 1 whole pineapple, peeled and sliced or cubed
  • 750mL vodka
  • Two large clean bottles or jars
  • Cheesecloth or other fine strainer
  • Funnel

Instructions

  1. In a large clean bottle or jar, add prepared pineapple and vodka.
  2. After capping, swirl container gently.
  3. Store in a cool, dark place for approximately 3 to 4 days, swirling the container gently each day.
  4. Sample by pouring into a glass. If you want more flavor, allow to steep longer.
  5. Carefully remove pineapple and discard.
  6. Pour the infused vodka into the second clean bottle, filtering with the cheesecloth.
  7. Carefully seal.

You can use the infused vodka right away. You can also store unused vodka tightly sealed in a cool, dark place for approximately one to two years without flavor being affected. Discard when the flavor starts to fade or tastes "off."

Variations of Pineapple-Infused Vodka

Pineapple has a smooth and delicious taste, so it goes without saying that it can make friends with just about any other tropical flavor and a few savory ones too!

  • To add a nutty profile to your pineapple vodka, add a half cup of coarsely chopped cashews, macadamia nuts, or walnuts.
  • Keep the tropical vibe going with a cup of fresh, cleaned, sliced apricots or peeled and sliced kiwi. You can also add an entire peeled and sliced mango or half of a sliced coconut.
  • Add two to three cleaned, whole sliced lemons or limes for a citrus touch. Toss in an entire sliced grapefruit or orange, too.
  • Take the pineapple vodka to the next level with three whole cinnamon sticks, a tablespoon of whole cloves, a quarter cup of peeled and sliced fresh ginger, or three sprigs of fresh rosemary.
  • Make your pineapple vodka a little sweeter with a quarter to half cup of maple syrup, twelve unwrapped soft caramel candies, or a teaspoon (up to three!) of brown or white sugar.
  • Kick things into a spicy gear by adding a fresh, sliced jalapeño, omitting any seeds. Not spicy enough? Add another.
